Robert Leon Jordan was best known as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 14, 1988, and received his commission on October 17, 1988. He assumed senior status on November 30, 2001.

Robert Leon Jordan was born in Woodlawn, Tennessee on June 28, 1934. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1958 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1960.
